THURSDAY OCTOBER 22 | 6:30 PM – 7:15 PM | GOOGLE MEET (code: ChapmanTAG)

Assistant Principal Dr. Martini and TAG Coordinator Rochella Farnand will be hosting a Virtual TAG Information Meeting for parents on Thursday, October 22nd at 6:30 pm to 7:15pm. Google meet code: ChapmanTAG. At this meeting parents can learn about the TAG identification process and in-school implementation. There are many changes this year that will be addressed.

In the past, all Second graders were tested in the fall for TAG identification for intellectual ability. Because of our situation, this has been cancelled and may take place if we are back in the spring.

Parents can still nominate their child for age level TAG testing in intellectual, math, or reading. Students that took the MAP last winter have scores that can be used for identification.

Nomination forms are available at the PPS TAG website.  (The department has had some glitches, but expect the forms to be available if not now, soon.)  The deadline for nominations is November 20th and late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Please talk to your child’s teacher about your interest in nominating your child. Your form will go directly to the TAG office and your teacher will also need to fill out an online form for identification.

For those already identified, families should have already met with their child’s teacher to discuss best ways to meet the needs of your child.

If you have any TAG questions, feel free to email Rochella Farnand at rfarnand@pps.net.  You may also find additional information on the PPS TAG website (link above).
