January and February PTA Notes are now posted

Apologies for the delay. Notes from January and February PTA meetings are now posted.

Note: PTA members receive these notes and agendas prior to our monthly meetings directly from Chapman PTA President Morgan Nystrom.  More on PTA and how to join here.

As we get closer to the end of the school year, learn more about PPS staffing and allocation decisions, and receive income totals from our largest annual fundraiser, the PTA and Foundation will be discussing how best to prioritize our funding to positively impact our school community for the 2019-20 school year. We appreciate your interest and active engagement in this process. All PTA members are eligible to vote.

Registration Closing Soon:  Lincoln Girls Lacrosse

The last day to register for Lincoln Girls Lacrosse is Monday, February 16.  Early registration has closed but there are still plenty of spots open for new, beginning and experienced players.  Lincoln Girls Lacrosse is open to all kids in grades 2-8 – no experience necessary!  The equipment needed is minimal – a lacrosse stick, a mouthguard and goggles.  All can be purchased at Dick’s Sporting Goods or online.
If you are new to lacrosse or unsure what it is all about, there is a new player clinic next Saturday, February 23 from 12:30-1pm for kids ages 6-12 years old at Wilsonville High School (rescheduled from February 9).  The registration fee for the clinic is $35 and includes a lacrosse stick, a t-shirt and a ball (over $100 value!).  Registration information is on the flyer below.
If you have any questions, please contact Ursula Lalovic at ulalovic@gmail.com.

The grant is one part of PTA Connected, an initiative to educate and engage families in digital wellness, security, access, equity and literacy. The initiative was formed partly due response to the growing needs and interest of parents nationwide.

Who’s Ready to Rumble? It’s OBOB Battle Time!

Best of luck to all our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade readers who have been working hard and reading voraciously these past few months in preparation for the annual Oregon Battle of the Books competition.

Special thanks to our volunteer coordinators, Molly Porter and Ashley Walker, our amazing library aide, Cynthia Stevens, and all the parent coaches who help make this so much fun for our students!

Specific battles dates, times and locations are on the Friends of Chapman calendar. Coordinators will let parent coaches know if scheduling changes will need to be made due to weather.
