The Vaux’s Swift migration is a big deal at Chapman! Did you know that before Chapman’s heating system was converted to natural gas in 2001, students and staff protected the visiting Swifts by waiting to turn on the heat until after the birds left our school? Some years, the Swifts weren’t ready to move on until October, so everyone just bundled up!
This and other fun facts about this fantastic natural wonder can be found at the Audubon Society website.
Our Swift season is winding down now, with just a few more weekends to enjoy Swift Pizza nights with friends and neighbors!
